

This is a story I won’t forget, and if you’re okay with some darker themes, then I definitely recommend this one. I think I read this entire book in just two sittings. I loved the writing, the mysterious plot, the fascinating characters – even the setting had me glued to the page.

Also, the cat’s point of view was just so good. It keeps you on your toes the whole time, with every chapter revealing something new. In CLOUD CUCKOO LAND, Doerr has created a magnificent tapestry of times and places that reflects our vast interconnectedness - with other species, with each other, with those who lived before us, and with those who will be here after we’re gone. But I thought it was so gripping and well-done. The Last House on Needless Street is certainly not for the faint of heart, and I would recommend checking the trigger warnings first. But if you are, then you’re in for a twisty, creepy story that you won’t be able to put down. If you’re not into dark thrillers/horror novels, this may not be the book for you.
